On a busy and beautiful afternoon in the heart of Leamington Spa, I had the joy of face painting at the By Your Side community event, held outdoors in the scenic Pump Room Gardens.
From the moment the event started at 11am, I was completely non-stop until 2:50pm — painting everything from rainbow butterflies and tigers to superheroes and Stitch, one right after the other! The queues didn’t stop, and the atmosphere was full of energy, laughter, and excitement.

The event was hosted by By Your Side, a brilliant Warwickshire-based charity that provides vital support to parents of babies and young children during difficult times. They offer practical help, emotional guidance, and a caring presence when it’s needed most.

The Pump Room Gardens were buzzing with families, music, and community spirit — and I was so proud to be a part of it. You can read more about this beautiful public space on the Warwick District Council site.
While I didn’t get many photos (my paintbrush was constantly in motion!), the memory of the day is still crystal clear: colour, connection, and a wonderful cause.
