At Mini Marvellous Faces, I'm always looking for ways to improve and create face painting that’s full of colour, depth, and imagination. As a local face painter covering Leamington Spa, Warwick, and the surrounding South Warwickshire area, I want every design to feel magical – especially for the little ones (and big kids too!).
Recently, I took a big step on that journey by completing a Level 2 One Stroke Face Painting course. It was all about learning how to bring my designs to life using a technique that allows for beautiful blended colours in a single brush stroke. Sounds simple? It's anything but – and totally worth the challenge!
We started with the basics: building petal shapes, working on colour placement, and understanding how to move the brush with intention. It takes serious control and practice – and I’ll be the first to admit I still need to practice my strokes! But each shape taught me something new.
🖌️ From layered petals to princess crowns, this technique really adds wow-factor to designs, perfect for those special party moments or festival looks.
After working on the fundamentals, I got to apply them to a full face design using a template – shaping around the eyes and forehead, then adding highlights to bring it to life. The transformation was instant and inspiring!
It’s training like this that helps me improve my service and offer something fresh and creative for face painting in Warwickshire – whether it’s birthday parties, community events, or special occasions.
While the course was the highlight, I did get to take in some inspiring sights along the way – it’s always nice to blend a bit of creativity with travel. A few photos from the journey made it into my camera roll… and my heart!
